The goal of strength training is to increase physical strength. In order to do this, you need to lift weights for a number of different exercises. You also need to eat well. This is because your body needs the nutrients it needs to build and maintain muscle.
One of the most important principles of strength training is progressive overload. It means that you need to constantly top your last workout. This is the only way to gain strength. However, you also need to make sure you are doing the right amount of sets. For example, if you did 30 push-ups the week before, you must do 31 the following week.
You also need to make sure you are drinking enough water. Water helps your muscles grow. You should also eat a healthy diet that contains a variety of proteins and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are important for protein transport and amino acid metabolism. You should eat one to three grams of carbs for each pound of body weight.
If you are going to be working out for an hour or more, you should also take a break. After an hour, your body starts to lose beneficial hormones that help your muscles to grow. This means you won’t be able to build as much muscle as you want. Your body needs time to recover before you perform another intense exercise session.
Doing too many cardio exercises can make it difficult to gain weight and strength. This can lead to excessive soreness after workouts, lack of sleep, and a low desire to get in shape.
